Coperta da un drappo rosso come un monumento, nella piazza del comune di Seregno la nostra Giulietta accoglie la stampa locale, visitatori e fans. Conferenza, domande, racconto di quella che sarà la nostra avventura. Poi, tutti fuori, con fotografi e cineoperatori che immortalano la “diva”. Dopo pranzo, si parte. Sosta a Berna dagli amici Mario e Luisa Fedrigotto. Altra sosta a Reims e il giorno dopo siamo a sud di Oxford pronti per il “Garmin day”. 80 chilometri nella campagna dell'Oxforshire, metà con un road book e metà con le sole indicazioni dei waypoint. Ce la siamo cavata bene e per Celestina soltanto grandi complimenti. Mentre andavamo a casa di Jennifer, nel Kent, abbiamo forato una gomma. La mattina dopo non ce l'hanno riparata, troppo difficile smontare le gomme da rally, introvabile la camera d'aria. Dovremo cambiare pneumatici. Poi, lunga tirata fino a Seregno, piccola lista di cambiamenti suggeriti ad Alberto: sedili, specchietti, barra del roll bar.
A test of 3200 km
Covered with a red cloth as a monument in the square of the town of Seregno our Giulietta welcomes the local press, visitors, and fans. In the morning we hold a conference, we answer all questions and tell what will be our adventure. Then, everybody out, with photographers and videographers that immortalize the "star". After lunch, we go. Stop to see our friends Mario and Luisa Fedrigotti in Berne. We stop again in Reims and the next day we are south of Oxford ready for the "Garmin day". 80 km in the countryside of Oxfordshire, half with a road book and half following only of waypoints. We got along well and Celestina received only great compliments. While we were going to our friend Jennifer, in Kent, we had a flat tire. The next morning they could not repair it. It was too difficult to remove the rally tires and it was impossible to find the inner tube. We will have to change tires. Then, again to Seregno. We suggest to Alberto a small list of thing to change: seats, mirrors, roll bar.
